List of Current Members for a CIO

This List of Current Members for a CIO is designed for use by a charity established as an Association Model CIO, i.e. a CIO which has a substantial number of members at any one time in addition to the trustees who are members.

The Regulations governing CIOs do not require the keeping of a list such as this - they only require a Register of Members to be kept – but it will be useful for any CIO to keep such a list.

Maintaining this List of Current Members for a CIO in addition to the Register of Members will enable the CIO to have a list showing only its current members which will be useful for the CIO where its trustees/secretary/staff need to communicate with the current members or check quickly if a person is a current member.

Details of a member may be deleted from this  list as soon as an individual member ceases to be a member whereas details of those who cease to be members may only be deleted from the Register of Members 10 years after they cease to be members.
