Certificate of CIO Membership

This Certificate of CIO Membership is a form of certificate which can be signed by two trustees of a CIO and sent to a member with a covering letter accepting the member’s application for membership.

Whether a CIO issues a membership certificate is a matter of preference: there is no legal requirement to do so.

This Certificate is modelled on a share certificate issued to members of a company which has shares. The Certificate contains a statement which confirms that, as provided by the CIO’s constitution, membership is not transferable.

When the CIO sends the Certificate of CIO Membership to a member, it can send it with a covering letter in the form of the Acceptance of Application to become a Member of a CIO which has also been included in this group. That form of letter is the CIO’s acceptance of an application for membership.
