Display Screen Equipment - Training
The employer must ensure that adequate Health and Safety Training in the use of any Display Screen Workstation is provided to any employee who will be required to use it habitually as a significant part of their work, or one who is a user whenever the organisation of the workstation is substantially modified.
This Training Provision Duty does not apply in respect of self-employed contractors who operate display screen equipment for the employer. However, the employer should ensure that necessary training is provided to such contractors in order to perform his general duties to protect both employees from health and safety risks from the activities of contractors and non-employees from the health and safety risks they face from operating at display screen workstations.
