Trade Mark Protection of Image and Reputation

Brands or styles adopted for goods, services or business can be important assets to influence consumer (and other) customers to buy from your business rather than from any competitors. If you are launching a new business, product or service, consider carefully your choice of name, logo, symbol, sign, trade mark, and overall image.

Protection of your products and trading image can be by means of a registered or unregistered mark - see the following pages. In either case, protection depends on distinctiveness inherent in the mark itself or acquired through use establishing an association in the mind of the customer between the mark and your product, service or business.
