Users
As regards users (whether employees or others) of any work equipment (including equipment that is likely to involve a specific risk to health or safety), the employer must ensure that all users:
- have available to them adequate health and safety information and, where appropriate, written instructions regarding the use of the work equipment;
- have received adequate health and safety training for the job, including training in methods for using the equipment, risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken.
Supervisors & Managers of Equipment Use
As regards any employee who supervises or manages the use of work equipment (including equipment that is likely to involve a specific risk to health or safety), the employer must ensure that any such supervisor or manager:
- has available to him or her adequate health and safety information and, where appropriate, written instruction regarding the use of the work equipment;
- has received adequate health and safety training for the job, including training in methods for using the equipment, risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken.
