Updated Standard Terms and Conditions
Export Sales of Goods
January 2021
Do you export goods to customers based overseas (including EU countries)?
Following the ending of the Brexit transition period on 31 December 2020,
many businesses in the UK will wish to exploit post-Brexit opportunities to
the full. In particular, many will look to begin or continue to sell their
goods abroad. Some may deal only or mainly with existing overseas
customers, some may also wish to secure new customers or markets.
Whether you sell your goods into the EU or into any other overseas country,
you should contract on suitable export sales terms to ensure that your
interests are adequately protected.
This month the standard set of export sales of goods terms have been
reviewed and updated. The contents of these revised terms assume that you
will want to use a single set of export terms irrespective of the location
of that buyer. These terms of export sale can be adapted to suit your
particular circumstances.
