The social aspect of ESG focuses on a business’ impact on people. It measures how a business treats people such as employees, customers and the communities in which it operates.

- controversial sourcing;
- stakeholder/community relations and engagement;
- customer satisfaction;
- company cultures;
- employee advancement opportunities;
- employee education and welfare; and
- philanthropy (e.g. donations to local community, employee volunteering programmes).
