Whether a charitable company limited by guarantee issues a membership certificate is a matter of preference: there is no legal requirement to do so. If the charitable company chooses to issue certificates, the certificate should reflect the details required to be stated in the register of members under section 113 of the Companies Act 2006, being the name of the member and the class of membership (if any).
