Material Information Requirements For Estate and Lettings Agents

Many Lettings and Estate Agents will be aware of their obligations and responsibilities regarding the disclosure of Material Information in property listings under the Consumer Protection Regulations (CPRs). Part A of these Regulations took effect in 2022, with Parts B and Parts C following in November 2023. Agents should generally be familiar with their duty to include Material Information in property listings and the implications of non-compliance.


Propertymark, a leading professional body for estate and lettings agents, has launched a consultation to gather feedback on issues related to Material Information. The consultation aims to explore potential improvements to Material Information practices and can be accessed through the following links:
