Guidance Notes – How to do a Manual Handling Risk Assessment
These Guidance Notes are an easy to understand guide to help assessors to carry out a Manual Handling Risk Assessment.
The Guidance Notes are divided into two parts. The first part sets out how to use a ‘Risk Assessment Filter’. The filter will confirm or deny whether a manual handling activity falls within certain guidelines, and this will in turn dictate whether a full Manual Handling Risk Assessment is required. The second part of the Guidance Notes covers how to conduct the Risk Assessment (which will involve looking at individual employees who are carrying out manual handling activities).
These notes are based on the Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended) Guidance Notes.
The Manual Handling Risk Assessment Guidance Notes are in open format.
