Manual Handling - Employee Information & Co-operation
The employer must, (where it is not reasonably practicable to avoid the need for his employees to undertake a manual handling operation which involves a risk of their being injured), take appropriate steps to provide those employees with general indications of the weight of each load and of the heaviest side of any load whose centre of gravity is not positioned centrally; and (again, where it is reasonably practicable to do so), provide precise information on those matters.
In turn, employees must, while at work, make full and proper use of any system of work provided by their employer to reduce manual handling risks.
