Health and Safety for Temporary Staff

Information to the Temporary Employment Agency

The employer must ensure that any temporary employment agency which is to supply employees to carry out work in his undertaking is provided with comprehensible information on:

  • any special occupational qualifications or skills required to be held by those employees if they are to carry out their work safely;
  • the specific health and safety features of the jobs to be filled by those employees.

    Duty of the Temporary Employment Agency

    The temporary employment agency must ensure that the information so provided is given to the employees that will be supplied.

    Other Information to the Temporary Worker

    The employer must provide anyone supplied to him by a temporary employment agency with comprehensible information on:

  • any special occupational qualifications or skills required to be held by those employees if they are to carry out their work safely;
  • any health surveillance that his risk assessment shows is required to be provided to that employee.
