Promissory Note for unincorporated associations - clubs & charities with no interest payable

Promissory Note (no interest) – Unincorporated Association (club/charity)

CO.LCC.05

This Promissory Note (no interest) - Unincorporated Association (club/charity) is suitable for borrowing small amounts from one or more lenders where no interest on the loan is to be payable. Since no interest is payable, the lender might only accept a short loan period.

This template can be used by a charity or club borrowing from:

• any of its members or supporters;
• any of its management committee or trustees; or
• others more generally. However, private individuals, banks or other organisations may well not agree to lend money to a charity or club which is an unincorporated association because unincorporated associations are not separate legal entities. They might also not agree to lend without payment of interest.

This template can only be used by a charity or club which is an unincorporated association. If a charity or club which is a corporate body wishes to raise finance, it should use one of the forms of Promissory Note for a corporate body included in this Subfolder.
