Fire Safety Policy Templates
This Fire Safety Policies subfolder contains specific fire safety policy templates tailored to different businesses.
Under The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 it is a requirement that the person in charge of premises, who is called the Duty Holder or Responsible Person, carries out a Fire Risk Assessment. He does not have to carry it out himself if he does not feel competent to do so, but he must ensure one is done. The Fire Risk Assessment is then used as the basis for reducing any hazardous operations and should cover the activities carried out at your place of business.
Whilst the Fire Safety Order specifically requires fire risk assessments to be carried out on all non-domestic premises, businesses also need to put in place suitable and sufficient management systems and associated procedures to deal with fire safety and prevention. The Fire Safety Policy is a major part of that management system and is there to help companies of all types and sizes in every industry sector comply with the Order.
These Fire Safety Policies have been written for various sizes of company in different sectors of industry. Each template sets out the company's obligations in respect of fire prevention and helps to emphasise the company's commitment to fire safety.
