Guidance Notes: Business Continuity Planning
These Guidance Notes – Business Continuity Planning, How Prepared Are You? introduce and explain what Business Continuity Planning is and guide the reader through all the issues that a company needs to consider when planning how to maintain their business following an incident, event or emergency.
Any number of events can bring a business to a grinding halt – flood, fire, power failure, break-in, vandalism etc. Business Continuity Planning is about identifying those parts of an organisation that can’t afford to be lost – information, stock, premises, staff etc. – and planning how to maintain these if an incident (large or small) occurs. These guidance notes are a step by step guide to assist the reader in putting in place a Business Continuity Plan or framework for building resilience, to help ensure the continued operation of the business in the face of an incident.
This template should be read in conjunction with our Business Continuity Checklist and our Template Business Continuity Plan.
