What are Appropriate Terms for Buying Goods and/or Services?
A charity generally does not need to contract on purchase terms that differ from those used by a for-profit entity, although a charity might nevertheless need to include some provisions to take account of its specific needs or circumstances. In any event, it should purchase on terms that are not onerous to it.
For a template example of a consultancy services agreement that a charity might use when contracting to obtain services from a consultancy business, see Agreement for Charity to Procure Services (Non-Fundraising). For a template example of a set terms and conditions that a charity might use to purchase goods, see Terms and Conditions of Purchase. These templates are written to favour the charity purchaser in each case rather than the consultant/seller.
For information on purchasing goods and services, see Purchasing.
