Updated templates for LLPs reflecting compulsory Identity Verification Regime and Changes to Statutory Registers under the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023

June 2026

The Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA) applies to all LLPs. The most recent changes (November 2025) introduced by secondary legislation mean that the identity verification regime and changes to statutory registers apply to LLPs in the same way as they apply to companies.

LLP members and PSCs must verify their identity and LLPs are under an obligation to ensure that an individual does not act as a member unless and until their identity has been successfully verified. Failure to do so is a criminal offence. In addition, with the abolition of local LLP registers – the register of LLP members, members’ residential addresses and PSCs – LLPs must now file this information and any changes to this information directly (within 14 days) at Companies House.

Considering this, the following LLP templates have been updated to ensure that they are current with legislative changes:

  • Guidance Note: LLPs
  • LLP Checklist
  • Basic LLP Agreement
  • LLP Agreement
  • Deed of Adherence to Basic LLP Agreement
  • Deed of Adherence to LLP Agreement
  • LLP Whistleblowing Policy
  • LLP Confirmation of Identity Letter
  • LLP Identity Verification Form
  • The PSC regime and LLPs - documents for LLPs

Our general information on LLPs and information in relation to the impact of ECCTA on LLPs have also been updated.

Note that ECCTA is still not implemented in full and further upcoming changes are expected, for example, in the second half of 2026 (identity verification for those filing at Companies House) and April 2028 (changes to accounts). These changes will impact both companies and LLPs.
