Compressed Hours Employment Contract
This Compressed Hours Employment Contract has been drawn up in response to the growing popularity of flexible working patterns. Employees working compressed hours work their total contracted hours over fewer working days, e.g. a nine-day fortnight.
Employers must provide workers and employees with a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment and this is often known as a Standard Form Section One Statement.
This Contract covers the requirements of a Standard Form Section One Statement. This contract complies with these requirements and must be provided to the employee or worker by day one of employment.
This contract complies with all of the most recent legislation on employment and confers the same rights upon those with a compressed working week as are enjoyed by other full time staff with a more traditional working pattern.
The total number of hours to be worked are set out in the Hours clause. The wording gives discretion to the employer to change the compressed hours working pattern if they believe it’s causing problems with health or performance.
