This Website Design Agreement has been written for use by web designers and developers to govern the design and development of complete websites for clients. This document can be applied either to the construction of a brand new site or to the redevelopment of an existing one.

This agreement is designed to cover simple, straightforward website design and development. It does not provide for the creation and supply of additional software or support, nor does it provide for hosting. It has been written with small and medium developers in mind.

The parties are free to agree upon and specify all details of the web design project in a separate project specification which is to be incorporated into this agreement as a schedule. Simply-docs provides templates for website project proposals and project specifications.

An alternative version of this template that is more onerous on the Client with additional provisions favourable to the Developer is also available.

This agreement contains a range of optional clauses that allow it to be tailored to suit the delivery of the completed project either as a whole or as a series of separate milestones.

Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the agreement.
