Employer's Liability for Stress

Under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, employers have a responsibility to assess the risk of stress-related ill health arising from work activities and under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and to take measures to control that risk.

The HSE provides a set of Management Standards which provide guidance for employers on methods of preventing stress in the workplace:
