The Lay-off / Short-time Employment Contract is a general employment contract that can be used for a variety of jobs. In addition to the standard clauses it includes a clause dealing with laying-off employees or putting them on short-time working.

This employment contract has a General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)-compliant data processing clause. After 25 May 2018, employers must use this clause, as employers will not be able to rely on the existing generic consent clauses.

Please note that when a lay-off / short-time working is to occur for an indefinite period, the employee will be entitled to make a claim for statutory redundancy pay after either four consecutive weeks or six weeks or more within a 13 week period of being laid-off / placed on short-time working.
