Landlords and managers have a duty under Regulation 6 to ensure that fixed electrical installations are inspected and tested at least every 5 years by a qualified electrician. The electrician must provide a test certificate and the landlord or manager must supply the local housing authority with a copy of the certificate within 7 days of receiving a request from the authority.
