Policy on Bringing Employees’ Own Devices to Work

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Policy

EMP.RE.03.20
This Policy on Bringing Employees’ Own Devices to Work (BYOD) defines what the Company considers to be acceptable in respect of BYOD.

Increasingly, employees are using their own devices to access and store corporate information, as well as their own personal information. This is known as ‘bring your own device’ or BYOD.

Companies should ensure that they have a proper BYOD policy in order to protect them against the risks that come with employees using personal smartphones, laptops and tablets to process work-related information.

This policy  makes staff aware of the issues caused by using personal devices for work and sets down the key steps to be followed in limiting the potential risks to employers.

This Policy on Bringing Employees’ Own Devices to Work (BYOD) also refers to Simply-Doc’s The Communications, Email and Internet Policy and Data Protection Policy.

Words and paragraphs in square brackets are optional and may be deleted.

This policy contains the following sections:

1. Introduction
2. Acceptable Use
