Site Work Method Statement – Stripping Out Works

HS.MS.32

This site Method Statement is for works involved in stripping out fixtures and fittings before a refurbishment or conversion. Anything that involves invasive works carries the possibility of exposure to toxic dust or fibres such as asbestos, or the risk of coming into contact with live services.

Even if you are working on a small domestic project you will still be exposed to the same hazards as on a large commercial one, so you should always write a Method Statement if only to use it as a ‘tick box’ exercise to make sure you have thought about the safety issues involved.

This worked example draws on a variety of real life situations, some of the hazards identified may be relevant, others may not. How you fill in your own form will differ and will depend entirely on your company’s/client’s current health and safety procedures, but those shown provide an idea of how they could work.

This form has been professionally written for you to either print or fill in while carrying out your assessment on location or to use simply as a template. You may also find it useful to refer to some of the worked examples and the guidance notes.

Site Work Method Statement – Stripping Out Works is part of Health and Safety Documents. Just £35.00 + VAT provides unlimited downloads from Health and Safety Documents for 1 year.
