These Guidance Notes: Hygiene Training For Nursery Staff are designed to help the employer to understand and clearly identify what level of food hygiene training and general hygiene training is appropriate for staff to complete. It also covers guidance on what hygiene training or safeguards need to be in place if you have volunteers working in your nursery/playgroup.

This document has been updated to refer to the new sentencing guidelines for food safety and hygiene offences effective from February 2016.
