Website Terms of Sale - Paid Business Directory

TR.WEB.TC.24TOS

These Website Terms of Sale for Paid Business Directories are designed for use on websites which provide directory listing services in exchange for a fee. Such sites may be broad ranging, covering a variety of business types; or may be more specific, targeting specific industries or sectors.

While it is expected that more users of such websites are likely to be businesses rather than consumers, these Terms of Use nevertheless cater for both business users and consumer users.

This document is designed for use with a counterpart set of terms of use. This template applies to the sale of premium listings in your business directory, forming the terms of the contract between you and your customers.

These Terms of Sale guide customers through the process of purchasing a paid listing, explaining the formation of the contract, also setting out details of pricing, payment, ownership of the content of business listings, licensing, acceptable usage, legal rights, and liability.

Optional provisions and wording throughout make it easy to choose between offering one-off listings or renewing listings (or both).

Cancellation provisions have been designed to be as universal as possible, applying to business customers and consumers. Consumers are reminded that their 14-day “cooling off” period does not apply as their listing is made available immediately (i.e. the service begins immediately).

Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the document.
