This Sole Trader/Partnership General Health and Safety Statement has been designed for a sole trader or a partnership and sets out their commitment to safeguarding their employees' health, safety and welfare at work. It is recommended that all businesses (irrespective of size) should at least provide a statement of their intent to develop and maintain a health and safety action plan. This Health and Safety Statement is the first step in that process.

If your business has 5 or more employees you must have a written Health and Safety Policy in addition to the General Health and Safety Statement.

This Sole Trader/Partnership General Health and Safety Statement has been written to comply with the requirements of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 which sets out employers’ health and safety duties.

This Sole Trader/Partnership Health and Safety Statement, when complete, must be signed and dated by the most senior person in the business.
