Door Supervision Security Service Terms of Business

Door Supervision Service Terms & Conditions (Sub-Contractors Own Insurance)

BS.SEC.TC.01b

These Door Supervision Service Terms and Conditions are designed for use by individuals and business providing door supervision services to (typically) licenced establishments.

Designed as a precursor to a formal contract, this document sets out a standard framework covering all of the essential legal matters required for the contract. The exact nature of the services to be provided should be detailed in full in the final contract.

A central provision in this document includes a detailed set of formalities governing the provision of the services. These formalities include the all-important requirement that door supervisors be licenced by the Security Industry Authority (“SIA”). Further key provisions govern matters such as insurance, liability, payment and confidentiality.

This template can be used both by security service providers that employ their door supervisors and those that use sub-contractors. It is important to note that, under the terms of this document, the main contractor is responsible for any actions or breaches of the sub-contractor as if they were undertaken or committed by the main contractor itself.

The default position for insurance under this document is that it should not cover sub-contractors, thus requiring sub-contractors to take out their own insurance. An alternative version of this document is available which provides for the service provider’s own insurance policy to cover sub-contractors. Insurance taken out by sub-contractors should provide the same level of cover as the insurance taken out by the main contractor. Great care should be taken when selecting the appropriate document and you should always ensure that you fully understand the terms and conditions of your insurance.

For service providers using sub-contractors, a Security Sub-Contractor Agreement is also available for use when “hiring” the sub-contractors.

A counterpart agreement (contract) is also available for use when entering into final transactions.

Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the document.
