Example Party Wall Structure Notice

PROP.CON.18

The Party Wall Act etc 1996 requires a notice of any proposed works to be served on an adjoining owner who must consent to the works before they can commence. This Example Party Wall Structure Notice shows the type of works information which may be found in a party wall notice. The example provides explanatory notes about information required to complete a notice.

To make the process as easy as possible for an adjoining neighbour to consent to any proposed works, it is recommended that a pre-populated acknowledgment is served with the notice. They then simply need to sign, date and return the acknowledgment, and this provides the formal written agreement required under the Act.  An example acknowledgment is also available.

The Example Party Wall Structure Notice is for reference purposes only.  You are advised to seek advice from your legal adviser or a party wall surveyor and/or check the Government’s Party Wall Act explanatory booklet to ensure the latest requirements for party wall agreements are met and the format of any notices are in line with any updates to the Act.
