New Checklist: Charitable Company Formation

The new Charitable Company Formation Checklist deals with key points to be considered when setting up a charitable company limited by guarantee (a “CCLBG”).

The Checklist covers various Companies House and Charity Commission requirements and other issues to be taken into account in connection with setting up a CCLBG, such as selection and use of a charity name, financing, premises and assets. It also takes into account the requirements of the Economic Crime & Corporate Transparency Act 2023.

The Checklist is in the form of a table that sets out actions to be taken or considered with a commentary to assist, followed by empty boxes for completion depending on the individual circumstances.
