This Notice for Display in HMO Regarding Duties of Occupiers is a template notice for use by the landlord or manager of a house in multiple occupation (HMO).

Further information about HMOs can be found in the HMO/Licensing Guidance.

Landlords or managers of HMOs must comply with The Management of Houses in Multiple Occupation (England) Regulations 2006.

Regulation 10 sets out the duties of occupiers of HMOs. It is helpful to bring these duties to the attention of the occupiers. This Notice can be displayed at the HMO. As an alternative, or in addition, the Letter to HMO Tenants Regarding Duties of Occupiers can be sent to each household.

Optional phrases / clauses are enclosed in square brackets. These should be read carefully and selected so as to be compatible with one another. Unused options should be removed from the template.
