How to keep Company Registers

CO.CS.09.A
THIS DOCUMENT HAS BEEN SUPERCEDED BY GUIDANCE NOTES WHICH CAN BE FOUND HERE.

This How to keep Company Registers Guidance Note is a practical ‘how to’ guide covering key corporate documents – the company registers. It tells you what access must be allowed to the public to view and copy your corporate registers, and where you must keep the registers.

The Companies Act 2006 requires that certain specific records relating to company administration must be kept at your registered office or the single alternative inspection location (SAIL) notified to Companies House. They may be written, printed or in machine readable form. Some aspects of the company's affairs are a matter of public record and Companies House must be informed of certain events within the prescribed time limits otherwise penalties will be incurred.

This How to keep Company Registers Guidance Note is a simple guide to help Company Secretaries and Finance Directors apply the company records also included in this Sub-folder, maintain these records, and ensure where appropriate that they are filed within the prescribed period(s) at the Companies Registry.

Once you have purchased access to the Corporate Document Folder click on the “Download Document” button below. You will be asked what you want to do with the file. It is recommended that you save the document to a location of your choice prior to viewing.
